GERMAN WWII 1ST PATTERN TROPICAL FIELD CAP.

A good well service used 1st pattern tropical field cap issued in 1941. The cap has seen considerable wear, there is some minor stitch repairs at the rear of the cap, shredding to the national cockade, the national eagle in blue and tan Bevo slightly oxidised but with absolutely original stitching. It would appear that the wearer has tried to make the cap a snugger fit by adding some stitches closing the cap slightly smaller to the left hand side of the cap, close to the peak as the cap is worn. Standard twin zinc eyelets. Considerable wear to the inside. There is only a faint vision of the number stamping block and none of the letters or numbers can be easily identified although we can see enough within the Contruction to suspect this is a Carl Halfer manufacture.
