A magnificent example of a Deumer Ludenscheid produced Luftwaffe observers badge, early quality frosted highlights remaining to the laurel and oak leaf wreath, virtually all of the dark patinated finish remaining to the observer style eagle, on the reverse side Deumer of Ludenscheid impressed into the rear of the eagle, two delicate small domed rivets with its original pin hook and hinge. Fitted into its correct early pattern presentation case, worded Beobachter in gilt to the exterior of the lid, some scuffing to edge of lid, a small piece of paper within the box which read in English “removed from a bombed house near Leipzig in 1945 by my father was on round up duties”.
