GERMAN WWII MACHINE GUNNERS UTILITY KNIFE.

Described in one printed work as being a machine gunners knife, we believe this to be incorrect but a general utility knife issued to the German Army. A rare item. This example with an excellent blade, some slight sharpening marks but the profile is still complete. The letter ‘S’ marked to the forte of the blade. Standard oval steel cross guard. Undamaged wood grips. All of the tools are present and all of their springs work and the tools retain all of their blueing. The scabbard has 90% of its original paint finish remaining. There appears to be a welded repair affected to the boot clip system, it may well have come away from the main body and been welded back and has removed the paint in that area. The remainder of the scabbard is undated and in excellent condition.
