GERMAN WWII DOUBLE EREL MARKED INFANTRY OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

A very fine condition high saddle shape infantry officers army visor cap. Although not size stamped on test it appears to be size 56 or 57, two lines of moth tracking to the nap only on the crown, three actual moth holes on the very lower edge of the cap below the dark green centre band, and only visible from the inside of the cap when turned upside down, standard white infantry waffenfarbe, a nice matching set of stamped aluminium eagle and national cockade, the central cockade being of the Erel fretted type, wire officers cockades with silver side buttons. To the interior the cap is gold satin lined, with a full celluloid centre lozenge, with an Erel Sonderklasse silver impression below the celluloid, in the section below for a nametag, is a very nice quality red silk woven label with the owners name of Lohrt, plus his unit designation of 5/J.R.26, the light tan leather sweatband has one puncture hole at the rear of the cap close to where the one-piece leather band joins, Erel gold blocked marked also to the leather sweatband.
