GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE GAS MASK AND CASE.

It is very unusual to obtain Kriegsmarine used equipment, this example of the standard Armed Forces gas mask and its container, originally painted possibly from the factory in the Dunkel Gelb colour which in itself is unusual as most gas masks were in grey green, it has been over painted in a Kriegsmarine battleship grey, some slight chipping to the paint as can be seen, but nevertheless very complete, the interior mask also painted in the Dunkel Gelb, stamped FD 42 to the filter top, the mask itself with Dunkel Gelb eyepieces, the canvas and head strapping all complete. A faint maker’s triangular stamp and date 43 to the lid of the spare lens box.
