GERMAN WWI MECKLENBURG STRELITZ RESERVE OFFICERS HELMET.
Any picklehaube from Mecklenburg Strelitz has to be considered amongst the rarest of all the Imperial German regiments. There were only three regiments of infantry in the small principality of Mecklenburg Strelitz, which is the second battalion of infantry regiment 89 the first and third battalions being Mecklenburg Schwerin, this example being a very nice condition large size leather skull, good gilt to all of the fittings overall, the correct flat chin scale for infantry troops, the front plate having the reserve officers cross over the Mecklenburg Strelitz front plate with the correct lettering to the reserve cross. Slight congealing to the leather of the front and rear peaks, fitted with both its correct officer construction state and principality cockades. To the interior the mid tan leather sweatband has seen considerable wear use, but all complete and undamaged with its original inner silk liner. The small leather strap that is fitted to the interior of the chinstrap that allows the straps to be buckle together when the chinstrap are in the wearing form has broken away.
