GERMAN WWI BAVARIAN LIEB REGIMENT OFFICERS PICKELHAUBE.
The availability of Bavarian helmets on the collectors market are generally easily found, however they are mostly with gilded fittings, to find any Bavarian helmet with white metal fittings is scarce. Bavarian infantry Lieb Regiment formed in 1814 in Munich, all white metal fittings and flat chin scales. Good leather skull, front and rear peaks firmly attached to the main body, huge size Bavarian front plate, standard fluted spike, large cross base. To the interior the helmet has its black leather liner, with its extra inner blue silk inner liner, helmet is complete with both of its non serrated national and Bavarian cockades, it is very unusual to find the non-serrated style of cockade on Bavarian helmets. One nut missing from a star of the cross base.
