GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

A beautiful condition and fine example produced by the well known maker August Muller of Munchen, Dachaustrasse 123. High saddle shaped cap, the very finest officers quality Melton cloth in Luftwaffe blue grey. No moth holes, two very minor areas of moth tracking to the crown otherwise perfect. Standard officers silver waffenfarbe to the upper and lower sections of the mohair centre band and the full circumference of the crown. Matching set of Luftwaffe bullion woven eagle and national cockade. The cap is of the crusher style with its officers cap cords and twin side buttons, the so-called crusher caps of the Luftwaffe are highly desirable amongst collectors. Imitation light tan sweatband, which has the original owner’s initials ‘FS’ applied in individual letters to the sweatband. The interior lining all in gold with a very nice gold blocked ‘August Muller Munchen’ logo below the undamaged centre celluloid lozenge. A wartime period newspaper has been folded and placed behind the forehead area to allow the wearer a snugger fit. The light tan foam cushion behind the sweatband in the forehead area has solidified and the majority has broken away.
