GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE PILOT OBSERVERS BADGE CASED.

A magnificent condition Luftwaffe pilot observers badge, all gilt remaining to the oak and laurel leaf wreath with frosted highlights to the leaves, all of the patinated finish to the Luftwaffe pilot style eagle complete, with its original pin hook and hinge, two delicate small domed rivets holding the eagle to the main body. Although this award is non-maker marked it is generally accepted that these badges were constructed by the company Friedrich Linden of Ludenscheid. Clearly shown in full colour on pages 214 and 215 of the excellent work the German Luftwaffe pilot and combine pilot and observers badge of World War II by Sebastien Talbot. This example in its correct fitted case with good bright gilding to the exterior lettering, the flock finish in blue to the base of the interior has faded away.
