GERMAN WWII MG42 LEFETTE TRIPOD.

An exceptionally nice condition MG42 Lafette, dated ‘1941’. Eagle and swastika stamped, three letter coded ‘FAU’ tripod number ‘551’. This is an exceptionally nice and clean MG42 tripod, it is part of a batch that was disposed of by the Austrian Government in the 1970’s and 80’s. All have been painted and refurbished, the leather pads are original, the sight block is original, the block that holds the front tripod connecting piece on the gun to the tripod has Bundeswehr markings. It is complete with its bolt box, its ranging plate, the block on the reverse side close to the ranging plate is dated ‘1939’. All the legs work correctly. We believe this maybe a MG34 Lafette converted to a MG 42 , post war.
