GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE OFFICERS SWORD.
A mint unissued example of the depot issued Kriegsmarine officers sword of World War II. The plain piped back blade with manufacturers Mark E & F Horster of Solingen. The gilding to all the fittings which include the three scabbard fittings the lions head hilt the folding cross guard and clamshell being in superb condition, the white celluloid grip with two minor cracks, the sword is with its full length silver portapee, complete with its original E & F Horster paper quality tag, the lions head is devoid of any jewelled eyes which is standard for a depot issue sword. The leather to the scabbard mint, the hilt numbered 156 the upper scabbard mount numbered 156. Normally the depot issue sword have a small eagle and swastika at the very top of the piped back blade close to the hilt , also a small stamping on the of the chape of the lower scabbard fitted, also having its original Horster tag we believe that this sword was possibly privately purchased and never used or was never issued to the Kriegsmarine close to the end of World War II, and was taken as a war souvenir directly from the Holster factory.
