GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE WHITE TOP CAPTAIN AND ABOVE VISOR CAP.

A fabulous condition and now very difficult to find white top visor cap for the rank of captain and above. The white top is removable from the main body of the cap, it has markings where possibly another cap placed on the top, fitted with its gilded national eagle, the gilt to the rank lace to the peak and to the national cockade have toned to a gold/ grey colour. fitted with its correct Kriegsmarine style chinstrap and anchor side buttons with all their gilt remaining. To the interior the cap appears never to have been worn it still has its size label clipped to the rear of the light tan sweatband, no size stamp upon the paper label, light cream satin lining, with an undamaged non-maker or non-retailer marked central lozenge, behind the sweatband in the forehead area is the still supple orange cushion, although the cap is non-size stamped on test it would appear to be 57 or 58.
