GERMAN WWII JAGDGESCHWADER RICHTHOFEN CUFF TITLE.
This extremely rare Luftwaffe cuff title was designed to be worn by officers who had formerly served with the Jagdgeschwader Richthofen during WWI. Introduced in April 1935, although designed for officers this is definitely an NCOs version, the basic Luftwaffe blue background material is overlaid with very finely hand embroidered in silver grey thread, to the upper and lower edges is fitted a strip of 3mm silver waffenfarbe. The cuff title was taken out of service later in 1935. This is sewn together at the reverse side indicating it has been removed from a tunic. An excellent description of this cuff title and its origins is on page 106 of German Military Cuff Bands 1784 to the Present by Gordon Williamson and Thomas McGuirl.
