IMPERIAL GERMAN GEW98 BOLT ACTION RIFLE, DE-ACTIVATED.
A waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf 1916 manufactured and dated bolt action rifle being the standard arm of the German infantrymen of WWI. Gun number 8676. The gun is with its original de-activation certificate, which is an old specification, the bolt moves and dry fires. The wood stock abrased and slightly bruised overall. Imperial German acceptance stamp to the wood stock. Complete with both the sling swivels. No corrosion to the metal parts, all down to a brown colour. The trigger grouping is marked ‘8676’, which matches the receiver markings. Cleaning rod missing. Bayonet attachment complete. Rear sight marked ‘76’. ‘76’ marked to the butt plate. Complete with its de-activation certificate, this weapon can only be offered out of the United Kingdom and out of the EU.
