GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE GLIDER PILOTS BADGE.

A very fine example of the un-marked BSW produced glider pilot badge, the BSW being Bruder Schneider of Vienna, the award having good depth of detail to the Oakleaf wreath, the construction of the award overall identical to known examples, this is identical to the example photographed on page 94 and 95 of the excellent work the glider pilot badge by Stijn David. Most Luftwaffe glider pilot badges by BSW whether they are marked or unmarked suffered from a weakness to the left hand rivet area as the badge is viewed from the rear, a slight crack in the wreath can be seen. Complete with its original pin hook and hinge.
