GERMAN WWII ARMY M40 MATT FINISH PREVIOUSLY WIRE COVERED COMBAT HELMET.

A good M 40 army combat helmet, the shell having a secondary brush applied Matt grey finish then having a cradle of wire attached which has since disappeared from the helmet leaving the outline of the wire cradle visible. It is difficult to observe the size of the shell because of the brush applied heavy grade paint, the leather liner is all intact however the stitching holding the two halves of the liner together has degraded and split the liner into half, there is a size to the liner visible but is difficult to discern the last digit ,on test it would appear to be a size 56, good colour remaining to the leather which has in part solidified but nothing is broken.
