AUSTRALIAN WWII ENLISTED MANS SLOUCH HAT.
A very fine example of the classic Australian soldiers’ hat of World War II, known as the slouch Hat, thousands of images are available of this classic piece of headdress being worn on the battlefields of North Africa and the jungles of the Pacific. This example having its Australian maker marked Akubra gold blocked into the dark brown sweatband, its original pagree all intact, its Australian Commonwealth military forces badge attached to the upturned side is held to the main body of the hat with a unique sprung loaded clip system, to the hat is attached a small Royal Artillery badge and a white metal Polish piece of insignia, one moth nip close to one of the upper air vents apart from that moth free.
