US WWII UNITED STATES 9TH ARMY AIR FORCE OFFICERS TUNIC AND CAP.
A very nice condition chocolate brown tunic and overseas cap belonging to a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S.9th Army Air Force, complete with its fitted belt. Beautifully gilded double constructed eagle buttons. ‘US’ to each collar with wing propellers below. Fitted with a set of Sterling made pilots wings and three U.S. medal ribbons. The label to the interior shows the US eagle ‘REGULATION ARMY OFFICERS UNIFORM’ embroidered into the silk plus a label to the interior pocket giving the size of ‘35R’ with the date ‘11th April 1942’ with the signature of the Quartermasters Depot Inspector. No moth anywhere to the tunic or cap. The American chocolate unforms of WWII were undoubtedly the best of any of the combatants. Accompanied by the overseas cap, which has the name ‘Reddeman’ hand applied to the leather sweatband with its single lieutenant’s bar attached.
