GERMAN WWII MP40 SIX POCKET POUCH STRTAP.

A simple long strap with adjustment buckle 4cm in width but incredibly rare. This is the strap for allowing the wearer to wear the six compartment MP40 pouch, with the pouch full of ammunition it is heavy and subsequently the straps were strong and wide, generally encountered in webbing the leather example is far more difficult to find. All sprung loaded closure clips present. A similar example featured on page 177 Ausrustung volume 2. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects.
