GERMAN WWI CUIRASSIER LOBESTER TAIL HELMET.
A very nice example of the all steel bodied Juncker produced in 1916 Cuirassier mans lobster tail. The main body of the helmet is in its original form, no dents or indentations and no restoration. The helmet is fitted with its absolutely correct patinated grey Cuirassier style front plate, this is always indicated to be the correct plate by the feathers that lay on the shield behind the 'FR' to the centre of the plate. The helmet is with its original leather chinstrap, slight surface rusting to the steel fittings of the strap. To the interior the upper inner skull is marked 'C.E.Juncker, 1916'. The liner in light tan colour is generally complete with most of the tips of the tongues congealed. Parts of the original drawstring are still present. The interior front peak has its original green paint finish with the interior of the back peak still with its original black. To the lower inner rim the helmet is size stamped '56.5'. In line with all Imperial lobster tail helmets they were all fitted with the larger size cockades, this helmet still has one only of its original large size Prussian cockade, the national cockade, although larger than a pickelhaube cockade, is not the full standard size. The spike is the correct barrel type spike for a Cuirassier helmet and has not been replaced with a pickelhaube type spike. There is one extra mounting hole drilled through the rear lobster tail for wall display by a collector, this is occurrence we have found in many instances over the years with helmets obtained from within the United States. Overall a very nice Prussian Cuirassier mans helmet.
