BRITISH VICTORIAN LANCER OFFICERS HELMET OF THE 9th LANCERS.
A magnificent condition 9th Lancer officers’ helmet, 1902 to 1910 style crown. the gilt to all the fittings mint bright, The rabbit skin main body perfect, slight crazing to the leather of the morter board top, the ribbed black sides to the morter top without any moth damage, the chin chain is the unique roped ring style only worn by the 9th Lancers. To the interior the grained Morocco mid tan leather sweatband having evidence of light wear use. The interior olive green lining material complete and non-frayed with the full maker’s mark of Cater & Co Pall Mall to the interior. Also in the same area gilded initials possibly of the officer who owned this helmet. the helmet unusually comes with not only its full black and white swan feather f plume but it’s black-and-white undress hair plume.
