JAPANESE WWII COPY GERMAN HELMET FOR HOME GUARD USE.

Another helmet recently obtained from a fine old collection of unusual helmets in Germany. A helmet shell produced in a pot metal casting, more than likely copied from a captured Chinese M35 German made combat helmet. produced in Japan for home guard use. The pot metal finish is evident to the interior of the helmet, the exterior having most of its paint finish remaining with some of the pot metal showing through the abrasions, the liner system is typical of Japanese helmet liner manufacture, having a webbing cradle with long webbing chinstrap which are tied under the neck.
