GERMAN WWII K98 BAYONET BY J.SCH.

A nice early K98 bayonet, an excellent blade numbered ‘6154’ dated ‘38’ on the flat back of the blade, the opposite side having the maker ‘J.SCH’ with virtually all of its original blued finish remaining. The blade has not been abused or sharpened. Good wood grips. Slight surface rust to the upper pommel with the rifle retaining button working and complete. Double waffen amt marked to the upper pommel. Fitted into its matched number scabbard ‘6154’ with on the reverse side the maker mark ‘J.SCH’ with the full date ‘1938’. Good blueing remaining to the upper part of the scabbard, which has been protected by the leather frog, slight rust showing through and a small loss of the blueing to the lower half of the scabbard, with its good and strong leather frog, all stitching in place, maker marked and dated ‘1941’. The lower ball of the scabbard is waffen amt stamped, also the rifle retaining button waffen amt stamped.
