AUSTRIAN WWII 1935 AIR FORCE OFFICERS DAGGER.

A scarce dagger being the very short lived dagger of the 1935 Austrian Air Force. After Austria’s annexe all Austrian Air Force officers were inducted into the forces of the Third Reich and adopted the standard Luftwaffe officers dagger. This example is marked ‘Zeitner of Vienna VIII with their logo on the reverse side. The blade is generally good, some abrasions but no sharpening or re-profiling. The plating to the highly nickel plated cross guard and upper pommel is good with some losses. The white synthetic material grip has age crazing. The white enamel triangle within the red enamelled circular field to the central cross guard is totally undamaged, in its original scabbard, which again has some slight losses to the plating. No dents to the scabbard with both of its original hanging rings. A small loop that is fitted to the upper pommel of the grip to attach the portapee to is missing.
