GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE FIELD MARSHALL KESSELRING PHOTO ALBUM.
In October 2020 a auction was held in Germany where many items from the estate of the well known Luftwaffe Field Marshall Albert Kesselring were auctioned, we were able to purchase his personal example of the Allach Luftwaffe pilot and other artefacts, within the auction were a group of personal photograph albums ,we were only able to purchase one but it is the one which we regard as the most important . The album contains 102 various sizes of images ranging from 11 x 17 cm down to 8 x 6 cm, the album is plain leather bound which begins in 1940, with observations of the air raids on England’s Channel coast together with Herman Goering, Feld Marshal Bruno Loerzer and other generals, a presentation of the Marshals Baton on September 4, 1940, visiting an airport field hospital in December 1940, with Hungarian and Japanese offices in the Hotel Metropole in Brussels, at the 9th Flieger Corps headquarters in 1941, many other highly interesting shots with high ranking Officers, super quality images overall. The album initially contained about 40% more photographs and have been removed . Albert Kesselring a highly popular and very competent field commander was charged with war crimes in 1945 and sentenced to death which was commuted to a prison sentence which lasted util 1952.
