BRITISH WWII 1ST PATTERN FIBRE RIMMED PARATROOPER HELMET.
A fatigued shell but rare 1st pattern British paratrooper helmet, which retains approximately 40% of original light green finish to the shell, minor indentations. The fibre band is all complete, however to the lower part of the shell there are a series of 16 splits beneath the fibre rim, the 1st pattern helmet shells were very prone to splitting. The interior Sorbo rubber is all complete with its inner leather liner and canvas cradle. The rubber inner dome piece is missing. The leather liner is marked ‘BNB 7 1/8th 1942’. The leather straps are original, however they are by the Company G & S and have been removed from another helmet and placed on this helmet. British paratrooper helmets in the last years have risen in price enormously.
