GERMAN WWII NAVAL MATROSEN OBERGEFREITER UNIFORM.
Comprising three items, the double breasted pea jacket with good gilt buttons, this must have been the sailor’s Sunday best as he has fitted an eagle which is Officers modelin a mixture of cellion and bullion breast , the double tress rank patch for Matrosen Obergefreiter to the right hand sleeve. Blank lighter blue collar patches. No moth damage. Complete with the uniform’s matching trousers, which are faintly RB numbered to the waistband, again no moth, damage or staining. Naval deck cap, standard form with its one-piece gilded eagle and national cockade affixed by a long pin, with the Bevo woven gilt on black Kriegsmarine full length cap tally, some slight shredding to the tails of the cap tally. The interior of the cap has the dark leather sweatband, interior lining in dark brushed cotton with the naval style label ‘A.Steger’ applied to the upper inner crown. Behind the sweatband the orange foam cushion still in place, which has liquefied.
