GERMAN WWII 2nd PATTERN RAILWAY OFFICIALS DAGGER.

Excellent crisp blade by Eickhorn, much original cross grain finish remaining. The remaining parts of the dagger which includes the upper pommel, lower grip ring, cross guard and the scabbard all matching in colour. The matching in colour has always been difficult to achieve with this dagger, the upper grip sections are in aluminium, the scabbard is in steel and had a applied aluminium wash at the point of manufacture to match the aluminium upper grip fittings, quite often over the passage of time the finish on the scabbard has changed dramatically this example still extremely good. Grip undamaged. The dagger is complete with its set of black and silver brocade straps with black velvet backing, it unusually has the sprung loaded clip fittings in a semi floriate pattern.
