GERMAN 1870 IRON CROSS 1ST CLASS.
A 1870 Iron Cross 1st class with a later adapted pin, hook and hinge system. The recipient has had a much larger hinge fitted to a back plate, the pin with ‘835’ silver German markings with a hook with an equally wider back plate fitted. Slight rubbing to some of the paint finish on the ‘W’ the ‘1870’ and on the crown.
