GERMAN WWII M.43 ANKLE BOOTS.

A mismatched pair but definitely worn as a pair of the combat ankle boots, one boot maker marked size ‘27’ metric 5 English with a Vienna maker, the other marked size ‘6’ but without any metric sizes, both with their original leather laces. Wear use conversant to both boots. It is acknowledge by collectors that when boots were issued there were various piles of left and right boots and soldiers were asked to choose a pair themselves, it is well known that the human foot can be different sizes on one single person. We quite often have found this over the years of boots being mismatched but worn as a pair in the tropical long ankle boots. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects.
