A nice all leather skull, pencil size ‘57’ to its nice paper manufacturer’s label applied to the area of the inner skull behind the front plate. The leather skull in excellent condition overall, minor crazing. Both peaks securely stitched to the main body. Gilt slightly subdued to the ball top. Traces of gilt to the back strap. Good gilt to the ball top circular base. Good gilt with slight toned edges to the reserve officers front plate with the reserve officers cross below. Flat chin scales having subdued gilt, with both the officers State and national cockades. The interior leather sweatband, light tan colour, showing wear use and its original inner silk, which does have some shredding. The helmet is complete with its combat field cover. one of the tapes that secures the ball top cover to the main body is adrift from the body of the cover. The initials ‘HD’ applied to the rear peak of the cover itself.
