BRITISH WWI OLD BILL CHINA.
During WWI the artist Bruce Bairnsfather was the editor and artist of the magazine produced in the trenches known as Old Bill. A whole series of china and crockery were produced based on the Old Bill drawings. These four pieces comprise of an ashtray, saucer, 2 small dishes. One of the small dishes has a crack and is faded, the teacup also has a small crack, the ashtray and the other dish are undamaged. All Staffordshire marked on the reverse side by the maker Grimwades of Staffordshire.
