GERMAN WWII SS M.36 OFFICERS DAGGER.

Generally good blade, evidence of some cleaning. Non maker marked as all of the SS M36 officers daggers should be. Good depth to the Meine Ehre Heist Treue’ motto. This is a later plated dagger, much original plating remaining to the upper and lower cross guards. The ebony wood grip with a repaired chip to the upper right hand side of the grip, it would appear that the original chip has been re inserted, the original SS enamel inset undamaged, with its aluminium national eagle. Minor indentations to the ebony grip with very slight chipping to the lower left hand rear side. All fitted into its anodised scabbard, most of the later daggers have painted scabbards, this may be a changeover from the early nickel mounted scabbards to the anodised. All of the plating to the three mounts generally good and bright, some minor bubbling to the upper half moon of the top mount. The ball of the lower mount is totally undamaged. The chains are very good, slight thinness of plating on the rear of the sprung loaded catch. Overall an excellent M.36 SS officers dagger, which is an excellent type fit to its scabbard.
