GERMAN WWII REICHSWEHR PERIOD EARLY THIRD REICH INFANTRY VISOR CAP.

A rare cap but in very worn condition being an infantry mans or nco cap, with its early short winged Third Reich eagle and Reichswehr period cockade. Visible rust to the eagle and a dullness of the silvering to the cockade, with its correct nco strap. Wear to the exterior of the black fibre visor. The centre band is the early apple green style. The cap appears to be a size 53 or 54, not size stamped. On pulling down the interior leather sweatband, which is very worn but all complete, there is a clear date of ‘1935’ with a gothic lettered regimental marking, which unfortunately we have had difficulty deciphering, but would appear to be Abt.1A/TCHN (the next part is indecipherable), below what appears to be ‘Fuhrer Schule 26’, so possibly an infantry officers school marking. The interior lining is in the early russet brown. Some minor spots of moth nips to the crown.
