GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN RESERVE DRAGOON OFFICERS PICKELHAUBE.

A superb condition all leather skulled Prussian Reserve Dragoon officers pickelhaube. Magnificent gilt to the helmet, one small spot of gilt missing on the back strap where the rivet holding the back strap to the body touches the exterior trim. The unique style Dragoon plate with its Reserve Officers Cross to the centre, again with all its gilt, the chinstraps being of the correct domed style for mounted officers. Square cut front peak with its both Prussian and national officers quality cockades. Tall slender spike. All leather mid tan sweatband present with its inner silk liner, which shows wear use. The helmet shell is marked ‘53½’ to the upper inner crown. All of the green and red inner lining to both the front and back peaks present. The peaks also firmly attached to the main body. One small split to the front peak trim on the interior. The helmet is in its original carrying box, of both the which the carrying strap and the closing strap are present and not broken. A superb helmet.
