BRITISH WWII LORD LOUIS MOUNTBATTEN SIGNATURE.
A rare letter on crown headed paper typed address ‘HMS Kelly c/o GPO London’ dated ‘22nd April 1941. Hand written ‘Dear Mrs. Botham’ followed by typed text ‘Commander Walker has written to tell me of the closing down of the Royal Naval Club at Immingham’ he carries on talking about the Royal Naval Club and thanking Mrs Botham for all her hard work. Pen signed ‘Louis Mountbatten Captain (D) 5th Destroyer Flotilla’. The story of HMS Kelly is well known, Louis Mountbatten later to become Lord Louis Mountbatten was in command of HMS Kelly in the early years of the war and was rescued from the sea after HMS Kelly was sunk in the Mediterranean.
