GERMAN WWII ARMY ARTILLERY OFFICERS DOUBLE EREL MARKED VISOR CAP.

A fabulous condition good size, possibly 58, artillery officers visor cap, produced in the highest quality Melton material. One small area of moth tracking to the nap, no longer than 1cm on the crown. The deep red artillery waffenfarbe standing proud against the grey green of the upper part of the cap and the contrast of the dark green centre band. Fitted with a mixed set of very nice frosted stamped aluminium national eagle with a bullion wire cockade having a metallic centre. Standard officers bullion wire cap cords with silvered side buttons. To the interior the cap is completely lined in gold rayon. The sweatband does show slight wear use in mid tan leather showing wear around the forehead area. Good clear silver ‘Erel Stirn Schutz’ marking to the sweatband, which matches the officer Kliederkasse Berlin Erel Sonderklasse Extra’ silver markings underneath the undamaged centre celluloid lozenge. To the left hand side of the lozenge a very minor pair of pinpoint degrading spots. The officer has his initials ‘ET’ pinned to the sweatband, there is some other minor degrading of the rayon underneath the leather sweatband. A superb high saddle shape cap.
