GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE FLIGHT WHITE TOP CAP.

An extremely scarce cap of the Third Reich period being a Luftwaffe white top yellow piped cap with the white top being a fixed integral part in the construction of the cap. Virtually ever other white top cap that is found on the market will be of the style that has the removable white top, this has been constructed as a white top cap from the beginning . It is thick heavy white wool, there is some minor age staining to the areas of the white top. The insignia fitted is the early short winged droop tail eagle with matching national cockade. The cockade, unusually from brand new within its construction, has had its pins removed and is applied to the mohair centre band by two threads that run on either side of the central cockade area. Standard double buckle strap, double edged front peak in the Luftwaffe style. Very wide light tan centre band. Nice condition gold satin lining to the interior with the very large centre celluloid lozenge with the maker’s silver mark of ‘Dalluge’ from ‘Hannover Oster Strasse 2/3’. It would appear that the cap has possibly never been worn but has suffered discolouration from age storage only.
