GERMAN WWII PANZER GRENADIER OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

A superb quality high saddle shape officers visor cap, apple green waffenfarbe, constructed in the slightly rougher quality material. Minor moth tracking to the central green band and evidence of minor moth tracking underneath the rear overhang. Fitted with a very nice set of eagle and cockade. Highly impressive shape. The sweatband is of the wider heavily grained grey leather, which has seen evidence of wear use with a grey satin lining to the cap, which is in nice bright condition in the hidden and protected parts. The crown obviously takes most of the wear from the head shows staining and strangely some rust markings. The original owner has placed a folded strip of paper folded many times to the interior to make the cap a snugger fit to his head. Maker stamped to the interior of the grey leather sweatband ‘Josef Seltz of Landau’, stamped size ‘58’.
