GERMAN WWII INFANTRY REGIMENT 17 AND 41ST CAVALRY REGIMENT VISOR CAP.
A standard issue semi saddle shaped visor cap constructed in nice quality officer material. White waffenfarbe to the crown and upper and lower sections of the centre band. Fitted with a matched set of metallic national eagle and cockade with the application of a tradition skull and cross bones just below the eagle, this was the Totenkopf tradition badge worn by the Regimental Staff, 1st and 2nd Battalion Headquarters, 1st, 4th, 13th and 14th Companies of Infantry Regiment 17 and also worn by the 2nd Abteilung and 4th Squadron of Reiter Regiment 13 and also worn by all members of the 41st Cavalry Division. Standard double buckled chinstrap. Some crazing to the visor. To the interior the upper inner crown lining matches the side lining in the russet brown brushed cotton. The all leather sweatband intact with two tears. The centre celluloid lozenge non maker marked, complete and undamaged, with silver block size ‘54’ below the lozenge.
