GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE FLAK ARTILLERY NCO/ENLISTED MANS VISOR CAP.

A nice large size 58 enlisted mans quality constructed visor cap with red piping for flak artillery. Good nap to the material overall. Standard mohair centre band. Matched set of Luftwaffe eagle and swastika, the eagle being of the short wing droop tailed variety indicating an early cap. Standard black double buckle. The peak has the commonly encountered double edge variety for Luftwaffe caps, some crazing to the peak itself. To the interior the upper inner crown is in the russet brown colour brushed cotton with a very similar colour side lining. The all leather sweatband has suffered a little bit from rot, there is one area of splitting. The small area where the sweatband is attached to the inner side of the forehead area of the front peak has some adrift. A full and undamaged centre celluloid lozenge with the silver blocked manufacturer ‘J.A.Hoffmann, Berlin’ below the lozenge. A huge clear date of ‘1938’ with again a huge size stamping of ‘58’.
