GERMAN WWII ARMY INFANTRY M.38 OVERSEAS CAP.

A nice service worn overseas cap for an army infantryman. Stamped size ‘56’. To the exterior the cap has lost virtually all of its nap, the only section where the nap is present is on the protected parts under the side curtains. All the stitching has turned a very light colour, some minor rot to the stitches near the back of the cap. Fitted with totally original insignia, which has degraded slightly, mainly the eagle, the weave of the eagle is a slightly heavier version of the Bevo weave. Complete with its army white infantry section of soutache. Maker marked to the interior with date ‘1940’.
