GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE GENERAL’S WHITE TOP VISOR CAP.

A very difficult cap to find being a very large size 59 Luftwaffe white top cap for the Luftwaffe General. The white top is of the removable type, the top itself is slightly discoloured through age, complete with its matching set of bullion gold wire Luftwaffe eagle on a white backing material with a gold central cockade on black backing material, which of course matches the black of the mohair centre band. Gold waffenfarbe to the upper and lower sections of the gold centre band. Subdued gold cap cords, which match the toning of the eagle and cockade superbly. The two side buttons have retained their bright gilt. Standard Luftwaffe style double edged ribbed peak. The interior is lined in a very light white or cream satin with the undamaged centre celluloid lozenge of the maker ‘Clemens Wagner’ having the ‘Erstklassig’ trademark laid over an art deco style with the letters ‘CW’ below. Some form of age green mould has occurred in the area between the satin and the interior of the celluloid. The sweatband is the wider variety of sweatband in the white grained leather, it is very delicate and has split in two places.
