A very nice condition large size model 15 bluse with modified stand collar, worn by a Oberleutnant in the 1st Bavarian Artillery Regiment. Superb nap to the cloth, no moth anywhere to the tunic, standard 1915 deep barrel cuffs and correct skirted back. All Bavarian exterior buttons with all matching buttons of the horn type for the fly closure. Silver bullion shoulder boards with Bavarian blue fleck. Gilt number ‘1’ with gilt rank stars. Private purchase lining. Full tailor’s label of ‘Schmidt of Neu-Ulm’. In one of the hidden pockets in the rear skirt we found the remains of a feldpost letter dated ‘February 1918’ to an officer by the name ‘Frickhin, Koenigstrastr.19 Munich’ together with an accompanying telegram dated ‘18th February 23’ indicating this officer may have been wearing this tunic as a member of the Freikorps.
