GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE SIGNALS VISOR CAP.

A nice condition enlisted ranks visor cap for a Signals unit. High quality enlisted ranks cloth with one moth nip to the crown, two moth nips on the overhang very close to the brown waffenfarbe at the top section of the mohair centre band. High saddle shape. Early short winged drooped tail eagle with matching national cockade. Standard form of chinstrap with double buckles, double edged front peak. To the interior is the standard russet brown brushed cotton ‘Karl Halfer’ silvered maker’s mark still visible below the undamaged centre celluloid lozenge. The orange head cushion has virtually disintegrated and solidified. The original owner’s name label is attached to the inner sweatband, he was a member of 7th Company Signals Regiment 3. There are many further unit stampings, one dated ‘August 1937’ plus other unidentified markings. A good well marked cap.
