GERMAN WWI BAVARIAN OFFICERS HELMET IN ALUMINIUM.

An extremely rare virtually mint condition small size helmet for a Bavarian officer in lightweight aluminium. This is not a child’s helmet but a full size officers helmet, we have never in all our years of trading had a helmet of this construction before and must be part of the ersatz period. The all black skull in excellent condition, one minor indentation to the crown on the reverse side, very slight loss of paint to the edges of the all gilded cruciform base to the spike. Cut out crown to the full size Bavarian front plate. Domed chin scales. Large size officers national and Bavarian cockade. Full length fluted spike. To the interior the 9 tongued liner absolutely mint, unused, with its original drawstring. A metal label attached to the upper inner skull ‘DRGM’. An excessively rare helmet.
