An interesting three award citations, soldbuch and wehrpass grouping to an Obergefreiten Werner Bahlke who served with 2./Panzer-Korps-Nachr.-Abt.43. These documents recently purchased direct from the family in the Hamburg area comprise his Armed Forces soldbuch, which has been strengthened, photograph removed, showing service through from 1941 to 1945. His wehrpass, second issue, which an attempt has been made on the cover to ink out the swastika but has failed, the other rubber stamp swastikas have been erased. Pass photograph of Bahlke in civilian dress. Award citations, all three are the standard A5 size citations folded once, slightly rough at the edges, comprising the War Service Cross 2nd class with swords, awarded 30th January 1944, pencil signed by an unidentified General of Panzer troops. The Wound Badge in black, awarded 15th March 1945, also pencil signed but a Major and Unit Commander of the Signals unit and finally the Winter Medal in the East awarded August 1942 pen signed by an unidentified Oberleutnant and Unit Commander of the same unit. Accompanying the group is his allied issued certificate of discharge from the German Armed Forces. The discharge certificate gives his address as Kufstein in the Tirol area, eventually moved to the Hamburg area where his documents were recently sold.
