GERMAN WWI IRON CROSS 2ND CLASS 1914 IN PRESENTATION/MEMORIAL BOX.
Iron Cross in very fine quality by Alfred Roesner of Dresden, stamped ‘R’ to the ring. The wood box is 14 x 10 x 6cm in diameter, to the top of the box is well painted a large Iron Cross 1914 and across two corners Iron Cross ribbon, the left hand ribbon with the inscription ‘GROUGES-DIXMULL ST.QUENTIN’ and the lower right hand ribbon ’31.8.19’ to the ‘29th 1914’, followed by ’27.12.1914’. Around the side of the lid are inlaid white Iron Crosses on black. Inside the base is recessed in pale grey velvet to take the Iron Cross and the lid is lined in the same material. A fabulous presentation of the Iron Cross in a trench artwork form.
