GERMAN WWII 2ND PATTERN TROPICAL FIELD CAP.
A well worn and field repaired 2nd pattern tropical field cap issued in 1943, with the addition of a sweatband. On this example the sweatband has been removed by the wearer. There are various nicks and stress related parts to the cap that has shredded the material in places with a view of the red cloth lining below, especially in the area of just above the originally applied tan and blue Bevo woven cap eagle. Tropical field cockade all in place. Twin zinc side air vents. The front peak of the cap has obviously shred badly through wear and has been strengthened with the addition of a piece of tropical cloth by the original wearer. Approximately size 56. Some of the issue stampings are visible but cannot be deciphered.
