GERMAN WWII ARMY PANZER M.40 COMBAT TUNIC.
A standard configuration M35 combat tunic with the matching collar of the tunic cloth making it an M.40 tunic, good upper size, worn by a Panzer NCO. The shoulder boards are slip-on, the central cloth of each shoulder board virtually matching the colour of the tunic itself. Wool Pink piped with correct Panzer centred Bevo woven collar patches machine applied. A single row of silver army tress to the collar. To the upper left breast as the tunic is viewed a machine sewn grey on green Bevo woven eagle. Iron Cross 2nd class ribbon to the second buttonhole. One moth nip close to the front left hand uniform retaining hook holes. The nap is thin overall but very little moth tracking or moth damage. The areas most protected with nap remaining are beneath the pocket bag flaps. The grey standard lining to the tunic with issue stamps to the inner left hand side of sizes with the faint remains of a date ‘40’, which would have been preceded by a depot issue letter, which unfortunately is obscured by the indelible ink markings of a Russia film costume company. To the upper right hand breast there are four loops for two awards. The tunic cuff still in the adjustable format. Complete with its correct bandage pocket. At the end of WWII the Russian forces captured huge quantities of combat uniforms as well as many other items but kept a lot of the uniforms to use in propaganda films post war. This is undoubtedly a wartime used tunic with its untouched insignia.
